TWO TONE EARRINGS

Two Tone aims to combat waste in accessories. As a design student, acrylic is a common material used in models not only in industrial design but also in interior and architecture. Laser cutting allows us to create precise intricate organic cuts that might be impossible otherwise. However, there is a lot of waste incurred by students with larger projects. Strips of acrylic were being thrown away daily. My co-designer, Ashley Womack, and I saw an opportunity for intervention. We began designing earrings and jewelry that was not only light and elegant but closed the loop in this waste stream.




Eventually, this project will evolve into other mediums in reaction to the needs and possibilities we see around us.
